Hi there,
I am a foreigner and will be moving to Malaysia by the end of the year or early next year. I am looking to buy a property in prime KL area. Many developers are wooing expats like me by giving a hefty discount on the SPA price. For example, if the SPA price is RM 1 million, they are giving a flat discount of 20 %. I understand this is probably because there is an oversupply in the market. Can someone please clarify whether buying a property below RM 1 million is legal even though the SPA price is RM 1 million. I am a young/first time buyer and will be looking a significant amount of my savings as the down payment. Hence, I need to be 110% sure about the legality of such transactions.
Thank you so much!
Best wishes,
SS
